Aj Catanzaro
Surrounded by dirt bikes from birth, I learned to ride at age 2 and competed in amateur nationals for 14 years before earning a spot in the 2010 AMA Arenacross series, winning the championship in my first year. After years of racing Supercross and multiple top 5 finishes, I discovered my true passion for coaching, leading me to create The Moto Academy, where I now help others improve their riding skills.

I began riding dirt bikes at age 6, first exploring trails and backyards before discovering my passion for motocross through videos and starting to race at 14. After years of hard work and dedication, I earned my Professional Motocross license, achieving a lifelong dream. Now, as a coach at The Moto Academy, I’m excited to share my experience and help riders of all levels improve their skills and reach their full potential on the track.

I started riding dirtbikes when I was 4 years old. By the time I was 8, I was racing Loretta Lynn’s and other amateur nationals. Not long after, I met Aj at a track in Connecticut. I began really focusing on technique and how to adapt to changing track conditions and the importance of consistency. I realized I put everything else normal aside to practice or race, and from a young age I’ve always been dedicated to this craft. I spent time at training facilities and continued to compete at Loretta’s Lynn’s and eventually race professionally in Canada and in the US. In 2024 I had a shoulder injury which left me with a lot of extra time, and I found myself coaching and training riders on my own. Not long after, conversation began to join the team. I have as much passion for coaching as I do riding and training myself, and I’m fortunate to be in the position to do so!
Grant Eckardt
I got my first motocross bike at age 3, inspired by my dad’s passion for racing, but it wasn’t until I found AJ's Moto Academy at 17 that I truly began improving my technique and advancing from novice to expert. Now a full-time coach at The Moto Academy, I balance racing Canadian Pro Triple Crown events with helping others ride safely, while enjoying hobbies like flying, golfing, and mountain biking.
