Everything You’re Wondering About a The Moto Academy Class (Tour Date)

Start Here

Whether you're just learning, looking to fix bad habits, or trying to rebuild confidence after a crash — you're in the right place.

We’ve trained thousands of riders around the world, and these are the real questions we get all the time. Consider this your all-in-one resource for understanding how a Moto Academy class works.

Who It’s For

Do I need to be fast?

Not at all. These classes aren’t about racing — they’re about becoming a better, safer, more confident rider. We coach everyone from total beginners to pros & former pros. You don’t need to be fast — you just need a starting point.

What ages do you coach?

We train riders from about 5 years old to over 70. You’ll see young kids, parents and teens training together, older riders returning to the sport, and young racers trying to fine-tune their technique — all in the same class. Everyone’s welcome.

I’ve never jumped. Is that okay?

Yes! A huge percentage of our riders come to class specifically to learn how to jump safely. You’ll get step-by-step coaching based on your comfort level. And if jumping’s not your goal, no pressure — we’ll focus on skills that matter most to your riding.

I’m coming back to riding after years off. Is this for me?

Definitely. Whether you're returning after an injury, taking time off to raise a family, or just getting the itch again — this is the safest, most supportive way to get back on the bike. We’ll help you rebuild your confidence and skills from the ground up.

What if I’ve been riding for years — will I still learn something?

Yes. Riders with 10+ years of experience often tell us this was the first time someone ever truly coached them. We’ll help you break bad habits, refine technique, and finally get answers to the questions you’ve had for years.

What if I just trail ride or ride for fun?

You’re our kind of rider. These classes aren’t just for racers — they’re for anyone who wants to ride smarter, stay safer, and feel more in control on the bike. That includes weekend warriors, trail dads, moto moms, and backyard riders.

How the Day Works

When should I arrive and how does check-in work?

You should plan to arrive at the track by 9:30 AM so you have enough time to set up your pit, fuel your bike, and get into your gear. Your first official check-in will be the rider meeting at 10:00 AM, which takes place around the coach. The meeting location will be obvious when you arrive.

Please show up to the rider meeting in full gear and ready to ride — class will begin immediately after.

Classes run from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM with a break for lunch. You'll be split into two groups by skill level. While one group is riding, the other participates in off-bike coaching discussions — then you switch.

This rotation gives you time to observe, recover, hydrate, and reflect while staying engaged all day. If a class has over 40 riders, a second coach is added.

Ticket Options

All riders receive the same core training. If you choose VIP, you’ll get:

  • ✅ More direct feedback from the coach
  • ✅ Extra attention during drills

The value is in the extra coaching.

What to Bring

We recommend bringing:

  • ✅ A safe, well-maintained dirt bike
  • ✅ Full riding gear (helmet, boots, gloves, etc.)
  • ✅ Water, snacks, fuel, tools, spare bolts & parts

Can spectators come watch?

Yes — family, friends, and crew are welcome. Please stay in designated spectator areas and respect the space around the coaching drills. It's a great chance to see what class is all about.

Bikes, Waivers & Weather

What bikes are allowed?

We get this question more than any other — so here’s the full answer:

We welcome just about anything designed to ride on a dirt track. That includes:

  • ✅ 50cc bikes
  • ✅ 110cc minibikes
  • ✅ Electric bikes
  • ✅ 500cc adventure bikes

You do not need a certain brand, model, or engine size. We base it on common sense and safety:

  • Is the bike mechanically sound?
  • Does it have knobby tires made for a dirt track?
  • Are you comfortable riding it?

🚫 We do not allow quads or street bikes.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

TMA does not require a waiver, but most tracks do. You'll sign their waiver at the track before class begins.

What if it rains?

If weather makes the track unsafe, we’ll reschedule the class. Your spot automatically transfers to the new date. Can’t make it? We’ll help you switch to another class.

Refunds & Booking Info

We offer refundable and non-refundable ticket types. Choose the one that works best for you during checkout.

You can purchase multiple tickets in one order. One ticket = one rider. Rider names aren’t required during checkout.

You’ll receive a confirmation email after booking that includes a link to an optional rider survey to help us personalize your experience. This will allow you to tell us anything that you think we should know.
