You want to come to a Moto Academy 5-Day Camp, but you don't have a way to get your bike there. Maybe you live across the country. Maybe you don't own a truck or trailer. Maybe shipping a bike both directions costs more than the camp itself. For a lot of riders, the logistics of getting a bike to camp have killed the trip before it started.
That's exactly why we offer dirt bike rentals at our US 5-Day Camps. You book a flight, we have a race-ready bike waiting. No trailer, no tow rig, no cross-country shipping bills. You walk on, ride for five days, and fly home. (Note: rentals are currently US-only — our UK camps don't offer them yet.)
This guide covers everything you need to know: what bikes we rent, what they cost, how to book one, and the quirks of the program (the rental is booked by email rather than through a Shopify checkout, and there's a good reason for that — explained below). If you're considering a Moto Academy camp and the bike question is the only thing in your way, this is the answer.
Can You Rent a Dirt Bike at a Moto Academy 5-Day Camp?
Yes — at our US 5-Day Camps. Dirt bike rentals are available at every Moto Academy 5-Day Camp in the United States. We keep a small fleet of six bikes per camp, prepped and ready to ride, available to any camper who wants to skip the logistics of bringing their own. (UK camps don't currently offer rentals — UK riders need to bring or source a bike locally.)
It's not a product you buy through our website checkout. The rental is booked via email so we can confirm bike availability for your specific camp date, send you the rental waiver, and lock in the bike you want before another camper takes it. More on the exact process below.
If you're flying to camp from out of state, out of country, or you just don't want to deal with hauling a bike, the rental program is built for you.
The Rental Fleet — All 6 Bikes
Every 5-Day Camp has up to six rental bikes available. The lineup gives you a range of displacement, power, and feel — from a beginner-friendly pit bike to a fully race-ready 450:
- 2× Stark Varg Electric — Premium electric motocross bikes. Silent, instant torque, programmable power maps. A unique riding experience worth trying at least once.
- Kawasaki KX250 — Four-stroke 250 class. Ideal for intermediate riders or anyone training in the 250 class.
- Yamaha YZ450 — Four-stroke 450. A workhorse race bike — proven, popular, fast.
- Kawasaki KX450 (Race-Ready) — Same displacement as the YZ450 but with a different chassis feel. Race-prepped.
- Honda CRF110 — Entry-tier pit bike. Perfect for smaller riders, kids stepping up from a 50, or adults who want to learn fundamentals on a forgiving platform without committing to a full-size bike.
Six bikes total, first-come first-served per camp date. When you email to inquire, we'll tell you which bikes are still available for the camp you're targeting.

What "Race-Ready" Means on a Moto Academy Rental
"Race-ready" gets thrown around a lot, so here's what it actually means on a Moto Academy rental:
- Mechanically prepped before every camp — fluids fresh, controls checked, chassis bolts torqued
- Tires in good condition — we don't hand off a bike on knobbies that are squared off
- Suspension set up for typical rider weight — if you're significantly heavier or lighter than average, mention it in your email and we'll discuss adjustments
- Gear and footpegs serviceable — nothing rattling loose, nothing about to fail
You're not getting a beat-down rental. You're getting a bike that's been through our pre-camp prep process and is ready to handle five hard days of riding. If anything goes wrong mechanically during camp, our team is on-site and can address it.
How Much Does a Dirt Bike Rental Cost?
Dirt bike rentals at Moto Academy 5-Day Camps run $600 to $1,250 for the full camp week, depending on the bike you choose:
- $600/week — Honda CRF110 (entry tier, pit bike, smaller riders)
- $1,000–$1,250/week — Kawasaki KX250, Yamaha YZ450, Stark Varg Electric, Kawasaki KX450 Race-Ready
That covers the bike for the duration of the camp. Personal protective gear (helmet, boots, chest protector, gloves, etc.) is not included — you bring your own gear. If you need to source rental gear, mention it in your inquiry email and we can point you toward local options at most camp locations.
For context: shipping a personal bike both ways across the country typically runs $1,500 or more. Renting from us is usually less than half that, and you skip the freight scheduling entirely.
How to Rent a Dirt Bike at a 5-Day Camp (Step-by-Step)
Because rentals are limited to six bikes per camp and require a waiver, the process is email-driven. Here's how it works:
- Pick your camp. Browse the 5-Day Camp dates and pick a US camp that works for you. Rentals aren't currently offered at our UK camps, so this option is US-only.
- Email us. Send a note to info@themotoacademy.com with the subject line "Bike Rental Inquiry." Tell us which camp date you're attending (or considering), which bike you'd like to rent, your approximate weight and skill level, and any questions.
- Get availability confirmation. We'll reply with what's available for your camp date. If your first-choice bike is taken, we'll surface what else is on the rack. Once you confirm, we hold the bike for you.
- Complete the waiver and pay your invoice. We'll send you the rental waiver form along with an electronic invoice you can pay online. Sign the waiver, send it back, and complete the payment — standard motocross-rental paperwork, no surprises.
- Show up and ride. Your bike is at the track, prepped and ready, the morning camp starts. Walk on, get rolling.
The whole process is usually 1–3 emails. We try to keep it simple.
Why Rentals Are Capped at 6 Bikes Per Camp
This is the most common question we get: why only six? A couple of reasons:
First, every rental bike has to be mechanically prepped and ready to handle five hard days of riding. We don't have unlimited spare parts, suspension adjustments, or chassis prep time. Six bikes is what our team can keep at race-ready spec across every camp date we run.
Second, the rental fleet exists to support 5-Day campers, not to be a profit center. The bikes are there so out-of-state riders, fly-in campers, and riders without trucks can still come to camp. Keeping the fleet small keeps the focus on the actual product: the coaching.
Practically: book early if you want a rental. Camps fill, and rentals fill within those camps. If your first-choice camp is fully rented, we'll let you know which alternate dates still have bikes available.
Who Should Rent vs. Bring Their Own Bike
Renting makes sense if:
- You're flying in from another state or country
- You don't own a truck or trailer that can haul a dirt bike
- You're attending camp on a tight schedule and shipping logistics don't work
- You're a smaller rider or your kid needs a CRF110 — the entry option is built for this case
- You want to try a Stark Varg Electric without buying one
- Your bike just broke down or you sold it and the new one hasn't arrived
Bringing your own bike makes sense if:
- You live close enough to drive the bike to camp
- You're attached to your specific bike setup — suspension, ergonomics, grips, controls all dialed in
- You ride a class outside our rental fleet (we don't currently rent two-strokes or sub-110 minis)
If you're on the fence, just email and ask. We'll give you a straight read on whether renting works for your situation. Sometimes the answer is "drive your bike, you're only two hours away" and sometimes it's "fly in, skip the freight headache."
Ready to Rent? Here's How to Reach Us
Email info@themotoacademy.com with the subject line "Bike Rental Inquiry." Tell us your camp date, your bike preference, and your rider details — we'll come back with availability and the waiver.
If you haven't picked a camp yet, start at the 5-Day Camps page for all available US camp dates. The 2026 product page is here.
The bike shouldn't be what stops you from coming to camp. Fly in, walk on, ride race-ready — that's the whole point.
FAQs
Can I rent a dirt bike at a Moto Academy 5-Day Camp?
Yes. Dirt bike rentals are available at every Moto Academy 5-Day Camp in the US. We keep a small fleet of six bikes per camp date, prepped and ready to ride. The rental is booked by email — send a note to info@themotoacademy.com with the subject "Bike Rental Inquiry" and we'll confirm availability for your camp.
What dirt bikes does the Moto Academy rent?
Our 5-Day Camp rental fleet includes six bikes: two Stark Varg Electric motocross bikes, a Kawasaki KX250, a Yamaha YZ450, a Kawasaki KX450 Race-Ready, and a Honda CRF110 entry-tier pit bike. The CRF110 is built for smaller riders or anyone learning fundamentals on a forgiving platform.
How much does a dirt bike rental cost at a Moto Academy camp?
Rentals run $600 to $1,250 for the full camp week. The Honda CRF110 entry-tier bike is $600/week. The Kawasaki KX250, Yamaha YZ450, Stark Varg Electric, and Kawasaki KX450 Race-Ready are $1,000 to $1,250 per week. The rental covers the bike only — you bring your own protective gear.
How do I book a dirt bike rental at a 5-Day Camp?
Email info@themotoacademy.com with the subject "Bike Rental Inquiry." Include your camp date, the bike you'd like to rent, and your approximate weight and skill level. We'll reply with availability, send the rental waiver and an electronic invoice you can pay online, and hold the bike for you once you complete both.
What if all 6 rental bikes are already booked for my camp date?
Rentals are first-come, first-served. If your first-choice camp is fully rented, we'll let you know what alternate dates have bikes available. The fleet is intentionally small — six bikes per camp keeps the fleet at race-ready spec — so booking early matters, especially for the premium bikes.
Do I need to bring my own gear if I rent a Moto Academy bike?
Yes. The rental covers the bike only. You're responsible for your own personal protective gear: helmet, boots, chest protector, knee braces, gloves, goggles, jersey, pants. If you need to source rental gear locally, mention it in your inquiry email and we can point you to options at most camp locations.
